Welcome to Praise Tabernacle, the Whiteville Praise Experience
THE PRAISE REPORT

Elder BediakoElder Matthew A. Bediako, GC Executive Secretary, was our guest speaker for District Day on March 3, 2007. The theme was "Pentecost Again!" In fact, he spoke for the weekend program, which included a mission emphasis, and the official launching of the David H. Hughes Institute of Missions. More soon.

The weekend of December 15-17 was a glorious one in the four-year existence of Praise Tabernacle and the ten-year journey of excellence of Carolina Adventist Academy in Whiteville, NC. It was then that we were blessed to have the Grand Opening of our newly constructed multi-purpose education and worship center. Under clear skies and a cool wind blowing ever so mildly across south Whiteville, members and well wishers came out in their numbers to celebrate what God had done to bless this happy band of believers.

Having endured two tumultuous years from the purchase of the 13 acre tract of land to the completion of construction, the battle weary members and their Pastor were more that anxious to praise God for His mighty acts of deliverance at various points during the building process. There were many rivers to cross and many mountains to climb, but all agreed that "We've Come This Far by Faith." That was our theme for the weekend, and a fitting one it was.

There were several dignitaries in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m., after an exciting motorcade from the Whiteville Seventh-day Adventist Church where Praise Tab had sojourned for four years - starting Sabbath School at 12:30 in the afternoon, followed by divine service at 2:00 p.m. Dignitaries included: State Senator RC Soles; State Representative Dewey Hill; Mr. Andy Anderson, former Councilman; Elder vanard J. Mendinghall, President of South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-day Adventists; Dr. Pennie Lister-Smith, VP and Superintendent of Schools for South Atlantic Conference; Sister Shirley Johnson, Associate Superintendent of Schools for SAC; Brother Ronald Sparks of Sparks' Engineering and engineer in charge of seeing our project through to completion; Mr. Manlius Neil, President of Inter-State Contracting Company who was brought in to turn the project around. Mr Henry Edmond of Security Savings Bank which financed the project joined us for the worship service.
